The mayor saying one company is not doing enough to keep dealers and users away. Mayor jim kenney talking about a specific stretch of kensington along the Railroad Track home to dozens of addicts. Reporter iain, city Officials Say for months theyve been trying to get conrail to clean up certain sites of railroad where people have been homeless and been doing drugs but they say there hasnt been any progress so now theyre issuing citations against conrail. When i go down there, im proud of my that ive been clean but im one step away from using. Reporter this woman says reminded of her own struggles with cocaine and the time she used heroin when she goes down to feed the homeless near the conrail train tracks in the kensington area. And sees them shooting up hero heroin. I know what its like to not have nothing in your stomach and to have a dollar and pick either should i eat or should i do drugs . Over the years thousands of people addicted to drugs and drug dealers have used this conrail property as an open air drug market. Reporter today mayor jim kenney ripped into conrail while talking about clean up efforts along the tracks and guerney street saying conrail will be find by l and i and the department of Public Health for not keeping drug users and dealers away from what kenney says has become a hiding spot for their illicit activity. The City Administration wants the area fenned off. Mothers, daughter, sister, brothers and friends have died on those tracks from overdoses. The impact of that drug activity on the surrounding neighborhoods has been nearly as fatal. Reporter last month fox 29 highlighted the severity of the heroin epidemic in the same ar area. Conrail says its aware of the crisis and has worked in good faith with Community Leaders in West Kensington and fare hill but talks have apparently hit a snag. Saying recently however the cty has cut off dialogue with conrail and pursued a more adversarial approach meantime, neighbors who try to help those on the tracks arent sure a fence will keep them out. All it is is just put a fence. All they going to do is move to another area. You always going to find some place to go. He told police he was recording a rap video. Philadelphia police releasing this mug shot today of 20yearold cyrie saunders. According to investigators someone called 911 after they saw saunders pointing an ar15 out of the window of a van. When officers got to the scene in north philadelphia, they say they found saunders with a loaded gun and some more ammo in the back of the van. It was apparently all part of a rap video. Saunders who works at the Philadelphia International airport is now facing firearm violation charges. Man accused of ambushing two Pennsylvania State troopers rush to the hospital today. The trial resumed this afterno afternoon. The suspects parents say he fell while brushing his team and hit his head.
