Deadly string of violence on philadelphia streets, police have their handful this morning investigating four separate homicide in 24 hours. Steve keeley at police headquarters, here we are a week later, same headlines, steve. Reporter yeah, difference this time they we can report that there have been arrests and the first, and fourth murder, yesterday, and four murders on a sunday which is way more violent then lassies ter sunday, when we were standing here talking about how extreme easter weekend was , but three men were shot and killed within a very violent 10 hours, other shooting but three men shot and killed between two and midnight and there were other shootings where two men were critically wounded making yesterday way more violent then extreme easter violence we reported on here last monday morning, and what we have as well is a 41 yearold woman, first murder of the day stabbed to death, or bludgeoned to death, police say she had a big gash on the back of her head in the bedroom on ruth street in kensington and that is where first arrest was made a four threeyear old man, but latest murder happened in East Germantown, second shooting of the day in East Germantown where a man was shot and killed but there was an arrest made in this case as well because somebody called 911, and then people in the house cooperated. So as soon as the 14th district officers get over there right away, then they see the guy coming out of the house with a gun in a holster on his right hip and they arrested him as he is trying to make his getaway. When police and medics went to the third floor front bedroom they found a 22year old male laying in the bedroom on the floor suffering from multiple gunshot wound to his torso, chest, mouth and arms. Medics pronounced him dead at 12 18 a. M. Based on the scene and ballistic evidence we know that numerous shots were fired we found multiple spent shell case beings, inside the third floor front bedroom and these shell casing were in close proximity to the body, so we know that the shoot diagnosis take place in that third floor front bedroom. Reporter well well, just past 5 00 p. M. Police found a 20 yearold man shot dead, and at 2 00 p. M. First of the two murders, a 25 yearold man shot on mcmahon avenue. Im sure all this violence is going in one ear and out the other ear of our viewers but sadly these headlines are what we have to report here in fail this spring and you keep wondering when it will let up and hopefully to day is the day, but police here would tell you dont count on it because they cannot do anything about people getting shot, killed inside homes like these were and it is not like police can be on every corner. It is not the police fault but just a lot of guns and lots of people with the guns that shouldnt have guns, karen and thomas. That is truth, steve, thanks very much.
