And national fop announced the news over the weekend, seen here in this tweet. Members say trumps quote understands and supports our priorities and our members believe he will make america safe again. They are following the National Lead here in philadelphia. 7 09. They have arrested a man accused of planting a series of bombs in new york and then in new jersey but his motive is still unclear. In fact, it is raising new questions about the countrys immigration policies and also the polite of refugees. Doug luzader is on this story down in d. C. , hi there, doug. Reporter mike and alex, good morning. This guy is off the street but this whole deal has raised all kind of new issues out of the campaign trail ranging from immigration, reform to national security. The shootout on the streets of the linden, new jersey, seem to bring this all to a close a mad kahn rahami wounded and taken into custody accused of planting bombs in new york city and two other locations in new jersey. He is an american citizen but immigranted. Donald trump saying that it is time, and not using a term. It is not profiling. And it is certainly not a wonderful thing. But, we have a country to keep safe. Trumps son donald junior, with a tweet getting a great deal of attention this morning f you had a bowl of skittles and i told you just three would kill you would you take a handful. That is our syrian refugee problem. Says. Hillary clinton with a charge of her own. That the kinds of rhetoric, and language that mr. Trump has used is giving aid and comfort to our adversaries. All of this came on a critical day. President obama ate u. N. In new york, with most specifically on international refugees. The white house already planning to accept thousands shore fleeing violence in syria. At the same time a report, from the department of home land security is Inspector General saying the federal government improperly granted citizenship to more than a thousand people, who had already been targeted for deportation under another name. An issue sure to inn flame tension in congress. Lets figure out a system we can feel confident and recognize who were allowing in and that the person that they are claiming they are, they actually are. Reporter meantime president obama will address the u. N. General assembly today, talking specifically about refugees, and he is expected to talk about the Global Responsibility to deal with their issues. Mike anales we shall see. Doug, thank you. Hey, just real quickly i want to give you new information about the eagles offensive line hand lane johnson. He played well last night. We will see he will play sunday against steelers. Lane johnson has been suspended for the league for testing positive for a banned substance but listen to this, the suspension is pending an appeal that will be heard on october the fourth. That means lane will play on sunday, out at the link against the steelers. They have a good team. If a neutral arbitrator up holds the suspension and it looks like it will happen, lane would be suspended for ten straight games. He will come back for final three games of the regular season. Coming up, now speaking of the eagles did you see the National Anthem last night, whole country was watching that. They were, yes. So, during the National Anthem, nfl games, there has been some protests. Protest began in the the preseason 49ers Colin Kaepernick refused to stand during National Anthem, San Francisco quarterback kneels at racial in equality that was from last sunday. Demonstration spreading from team to Team IncludingMiami Dolphins and seattle seahawks. Some players raising fist to make their statements. So, lets get in the eagles now. Three eagles players last night raising their fist during the anthem in chicago. Safety Malcolm Jenkins was there, defensive end steven means and cornerback ron brooks. There was sports marcus smith did he was not pictured. We didnt see him. They were the only players, out of the 53 and coaches visibly protesting on the sidelines at solder field. Many fans were upset, i noticed on facebook and twitter last night. Others in support of the three. So, is it just about First Amendment rights . How did you feel when you watched that last night before the game . Lets join chad lasiter National Expert on race relations. Chad, always good to see you. Dom giordano. Thanks, mike, thanks very much. From 1210 big talk are, still doing big talking over there. Trying to, yes. So one columnist from the daily news thought it it was a hallow gesture, because there are only three or four out of the 53 man roster. So what do you think. And chad, lets start with you again. We had same discussion last week. I will go back to the same picture i started last time we talk about this, 1968, tommy smith, john carlos, on the award stand at olympics in 1968 with the black power fist in the air. Chad, when you see that im thinking maybe it is a generational thing. When you see the three guys last night what does that invoke in you. Well, 68 definitely was more important to me given the context of the the historical narrative where we were as a country. When i saw it last night i was under impression paw of the some of the things Malcolm Jenkins articulated it would be a team thing. When i saw it, it didnt have an impact on me. It would have had the whole or more team players. With more team players involved because you also heard coach say that if were going to do something as a team im all in. I was looking for that last night. But i think mike was suggesting they put their fist in the air because last night i posted a picture of it. People were confused by, some reference 1968. Others are saying what are they saying by putting their fist in the air. You did make a good point. They did stand but a fist in the air. When you saw it, what does that invoke in you. It invokes, much more power this 1968. Malcolm jenkins is not kaepernick. When i see fist raised, i am trying to figure out, and chad, we can talk this what the protest is specifically about. The fist verse the knee, interesting choice but the vagueness of this. Malcolm jenkins is an excellent guy. When he he talks about oppression and engages in this without more specifics that is when there is backlash. Some people commented they were saying they thought it was a compromise. They are still respecting flag but they want to express their feelings. You and i talk about it the on the phone last night and it seems like the fist is more of a statement then the knee. The fist is more of a statement then the knee but im trying to take out any of that takes us down a bad path. It is 1968. We are well past that. I think Malcolm Jenkins was trying to be respectful to the flag but he made a mistake by doing this because a lot of people see this as more aggressive then the knee. But i would also like to say one of the things that is missing in the National Narrative is that these players are not anti police, they are anti Police Misconduct and anti police brutality. So, i think that is often times missing. Were often times mixing the two. We are thinking individual air begins police. They are not begins police. Im different with you on. That Colin Kaepernick was wearing sock was pig was cops head on it. Colin capper neck is the problem. He is guy that got this started on a wrong path. If it is about a specific incident then im in agreement. The protest doesnt have as much power with a kaepernick stuff. I dont think colin was out of line with the protest where it initially start. I think socks were attention seeking. I will critique that. What he brought us to was National Conversation how we look at forms of oppression and harming nal says and these athletes need to do more than just put fist up. They need to open up their hand, get in the community and they need to do things in our communities. They need to seed back to the suffering that they see. They also have the privilege and they have the power and they have access. Do you think it was confused by what happened in philadelphia on friday night when two Police Officers were being shot, this is not the night to do this. We did see eag also that went to visit hospital room of the support for police. Aim not certain of the post in our city but you when those officers were shot, that all communities came together and they denounced the individuals who did that. I think that is the challenge that we primarily do not see. There are people in the city of philadelphia and around the country who are concerned about Police Officers getting shot, Police Officers getting killed but they are concerned and it is both hand with regard to Police Misconduct and brutality you bring up another issue that just happened on friday, as well, in another community in tulsa, oklahoma. This situation in tulsa looks really bad. I would agree with that from the footage i seen. I take these on a case by case basis. It is a false narrative that kaepernick put out that Police Officers are willy nilly shooting people down and getting paid leave. I questioned doing it last night, mike and alex in chicago where we have had 3,000 people shot. It has nothing to do with Police Oppression or whatever that i see. It would have been bet are doing this in a different setting maybe next eagles home game. Is there a narrative with regard to chicago where we talk about economic violence, were talking about Macro Economic violence and educational apartheid that creates conditions. Im in the saying because of conditions you need to get out and engage in that type of behavior but what colin is saying is there are some Police Officers killing black and brown people and getting a way with impunity. Tulsa, chief of the Police Department said beyond video thinks disturbing. The individuals having their hands up and still being shot and killed. I believe we are prosecuting peo
