MIT researcher Alex Tinguely has contributed to a fusion breakthrough with the JET tokamak at the Culham Center for Fusion Energy, leading a group that uses a specially designed antenna to measure Alfvén waves. The measurements can help researchers understand how these waves can degrade fusion performance in devices that are fueled by a mix of deuterium and tritium.
