CARO — Tuscola County residents continue to receive praise for the high number of signups for the organ donor registry.
Stephanie Sommer, who is with the Gift of Life Michigan Registry for Organ Donation, sent a special letter to Tuscola County in recognition of residents' participation.
“Tuscola County continues to be exemplary in supporting organ and tissue donation," Sommer said. "In 2020, Tuscola County had six donors ranging in age from 34 to 81.”
There were also 82 referrals.
For individuals on the donor registry, referrals means Gift of Life can work with families to honor their loved one’s donation decision.
