Twitter founder’s US platform to buy Afterpay By Neil Griffiths 02 August 2021 A US payments platform founded by Twitter’s Jack Dorsey will acquire Afterpay for $39 billion. It was confirmed on Monday that Square and the 2015-founded buy now, pay later service have entered into a scheme implementation deed that will see Square acquire all of the issued shares in Afterpay.
