UN Calls For Direct Talks Between India And Pakistan Ban Ki Moon NEW DELHI: UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has called for a “direct dialogue” between India and Pakistan, as the two sides continue to blame the other for cross border provocations. “We’re always following the developments in that part of the world very closely, and the Secretary-General will continue to encourage direct dialogue between Pakistan and India as a way to de-escalate any tensions that may exist,” the UN Secretary General’s spokesperson Stephane Dujarric told reporters in response to a question on tensions between the two countries.
