CHARLOTTE, North Carolina: United Methodist delegates repealed their church's longstanding ban on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) clergy with no debate on Wednesday, removing a rule forbidding 'self-avowed practicing homosexuals' from being ordained or appointed as ministers.
