UPDATE: Bear Climbs Down From Tree Near Downtown San Anselmo Following Shelter-in-Place CBS SF Bay Area 48 mins ago Syndicated Local – CBS San Francisco SAN ANSELMO (CBS SF) — A bear that climbed up into an oak tree near downtown San Anselmo, drawing a response from police and wildlife officials for several hours Thursday evening, has climbed down on its own and was coaxed back into the woods below Mount Tamalpais. A spokesperson for the Central Marin Police Authority said the bear came down from the tree in the 100 block of Tamalpais Avenue at 7:46 p.m. Thursday. The bear was encouraged by first responders to leave the neighborhood and walk into the wilderness.
