Martin UAV’s V-BAT system has been chosen by the US Navy for a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) unmanned aircraft system (UAS) prototyping and development effort. The selection follows the successful Mi2 Technology Demonstration live event at the Yuma Proving Grounds in Arizona, US. The company was one of the two down selected from 13 submissions to participate in the Tech Demo, which is the second phase of the Mi2 Challenge. L3Harris Technologies was the other candidate selected to compete.
