The legislation seeks to ensure regionally sufficient negotiated cash trade and equipping producers with more information to aid marketing decisions. U.S. Cattlemen’s Association Vice President and Marketing Committee Chair Justin Tupper, a South Dakota cattle producer says the bill is a great start to making cattle markets more transparent and competitive. He says the legislation does a good job of establishing what a cash trade is. Tupper says the measure also contains more flexibility for cattle producers and establishes a contract library.
