Veterans Memorial Park will host Tuscaloosa's Memorial Day p

Tuscaloosa will honor the men and women who died while in the military service during a Memorial Day program, which will also double as a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for veterans and their spouses.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 9 a.m. May 31 at the Tuscaloosa Veterans Memorial Park, 1701 McFarland Blvd. E, in front of University Mall.
Jerry C. McAbee, a retired brigadier general in the U.S. Marine Corps, will be the keynote speaker.
McAbee, a Rainsville native, is the author of “Stubborn Men and Parched Corn: The Eighteenth Georgia Volunteer Infantry Regiment,” a book that features recollections of McAbee's  great-grandfather of the Civil War regiment from Georgia.
