Virginia “Ginny” H. MacKinnon was born April 29, 1932, in Riverton, NJ, to Russell and Marion (McKeon) Hylton. Sadly, Mom had just recently been diagnosed with advanced cancer, and died October 13, 2023, at her home in Bemidji, MN. She married Ray MacKinnon in 1959, and together they raised five children. As the wife of a career military officer, Mom traveled and lived around the world. She was the consummate mom. She excelled in her chosen roles of caregiver, chef, consoler of bruised knees and enthusiastic supporter of her children’s endeavors. A lifelong Christian, she took great joy in the aiding of others. Through donation of her time and talents with Cub Scouts, Hospice, Churches United, Meals On Wheels, Foster Grandparenting in the elementary schools and so many other organizations, Mom made a point of always giving back to the communities in which she lived.
