Statewide protocol would authorize pharmacists to dispense the drugs and devices over the counter to adults over the age of 18. The drugs and devices to be included in the legislation are tuberculosis testing, HIV prophylaxis to be used both before and after exposure to the virus and devices like epipens. If passed, the bill will help lower out-of-pocket costs for consumers.
