Volvo Construction Equipment to build $4.3 million central Pa. training center Updated Mar 10, 2021; Facebook Share The Volvo Construction Equipment company has announced that it is building a $4.3 million training center in the Shippensburg area. The training center for the construction equipment manufacturer, is expected to open by the end of next year and will provide a space to develop and deliver in-person and virtual trainings. Construction is expected to begin later this year on the facility in Southampton Township, Franklin County. The $4.3 million expansion will include the addition of several new machine bays, classrooms and virtual laboratories used for creating and hosting virtual trainings. The training center will include technical courses on equipment as well as training and demonstrations on electric machines, automation and connectivity. The virtual laboratory will allow for the use of video, augmented reality and other technologies to support virtual training courses for dealers throughout the United States and Canada.
