Voters in 6 school districts deciding $302M in projects Tuesday — and that’s not all. Updated 6:11 PM; Voters will decide spending proposals in six school districts and choose school board members in about a dozen races this week, one year after the coronavirus pandemic upended the traditional spring election day in New Jersey. The largest of the school district ballot questions, $168.2 million, is in Clifton, and involves proposed upgrades at all 19 school buildings. Clifton would receive $64.6 million in state aid to partially offset the cost of the project, according to the New Jersey School Boards Association. School board races on Tuesday include Newark, where students returned to classrooms for the first time in more than a year Monday. Eight candidates are running for four seats on the board, with the proposed $138 million budget for the 2021-22 school year up for approval.
