Vanderbilt University officials have secured a $106.8 million loan for a graduate and professional student "housing village" planned for Midtown. The site, best known for previously having been home to Noshville and J-J's Market, has sat empty since early 2019, the year VU officials had hoped to break ground. In December 2019, the Post reported a July 2022 completion for phase one was planned. VU officials tentatively and previously had hoped for a fall 2021 opening. A Vanderbilt spokeswoman confirmed the university has resumed planning for the project. VU expects to begin construction âvery soon,â she added, declining to offer further details. Â A Davidson County Register of Deeds document notes a lease VU now has with Swiftsure Housing Partners LLC, which seemingly is affiliated with Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions. Pennsylvania-based BBCS, according to its website, provides development and asset/property management services within the higher education sector.
