WAMC/Northeast Public Radio's Spring Fund Drive mobilized listeners to help families in need and lower our collective carbon footprint. The drive began with just over $285,000 already pledged in The Locked Box. Over the past week, WAMC staff and volunteers took calls, and listeners also pledged online. WAMC also supported The Food Pantries of the Capital Region. Thanks to listeners contributing to WAMC in honor of The Food Pantries, WAMC was able to provide meals for 400 families and summer hygiene products for more than 250 needy families for the summer months. The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts also benefitted from the support of WAMC listeners and Emily Fisher, helping the food insecure in Western Massachusetts and surrounding areas.
