increase font size Warren crash injures seven Seven people were injured Friday afternoon in a two-car crash on Route 1 in Warren. According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, on July 2 at approximately 3 p.m., a 2011 Acura sports utility vehicle operated by Joshua Hatch, 47, of Austin Texas was heading south on Route 1 slowing to turn left onto the Sterling Road in the area of Lie Nielsen Toolworks. A 2013 Kia Forte, operated by Amber Schmaling, 42, of Standish, was also traveling south on Route 1 behind the Acura and struck the Acura as it slowed in traffic. Hatch and the five passengers of the Acura were treated and released at the scene for their injuries. Schmaling and the one passenger of the Kia were taken to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport for their injuries.
