LINDENHURST, NY —A New York Police Department officer from Lindenhurst is credited with quick thinking on the job that helped save a life. Ronald Kennedy is seen in a video improvising with a potato chip bag and tape to help stem bleeding from a stabbing wound in Harlem earlier this month.
Shirley Kennedy tells Patch that her son Ronald Kennedy is a graduate of Lindenhurst High School. Kennedy is seen the video responding to a stabbing attack on July 7, enlisting bystanders to buy him a bag of chips and tape so he could create a makeshift tourniquet to help a man who was bleeding from his ribs.
