SOUTHINGTON, CT — A wayward bear was captured in a busy section of Southington Wednesday afternoon.

A member of the ENCON "chemical immobilization team" was able to safety tranquilize the bear, a report indicates.
Data was obtained by the DEEP wildlife division and the bear was given two ear tags and safely moved to a wooded area without injury, ENCON police said.
