Article content City hall has done it again. Since they cannot manage or improve the system, what they have done is eliminate dozens of bus routes. Most affected are inner-city residents who have relied on public transportation to commute. Case in point is Route 3 which has operated from Jasper Place to Cromdale for the past 60-plus years. It was mostly used by low-income and seniors going downtown or to appointments. We apologize, but this video has failed to load. Some cities in Canada have adopted mini-buses with less frequent runs for routes that are not used enough. Why did our city not use that option? Instead of 15-minute or 30-minute intervals, why was a 60-minute interval not tried? The new system is buffoonery at best — call for a pickup in maybe half an hour to take you to a stop for another bus for which you still have to wait maybe 30 minutes to take you to another bus where you wait again before you got to your destination.
