Weather Service: 'Significant icing' expected over Petersburg, Tri-Cities this weekend
On top of the snow and freezing rain falling overnight Thursday into Friday, the National Weather Service is saying that up to a half-inch of ice may fall on Saturday

PETERSBURG — As the third storm in as many weeks bulls over the area, the National Weather Service is now saying that Petersburg now has a greater chance of seeing some "significant icing" between Saturday and Sunday.
"The risk for ice accumulations greater than 0.25 inches is highest across central Virginia, with totals as high as 0.5 inches possible," NWS said in a tweet Thursday night.
