Wicked Local The pandemic canceled last year's Plunge for Elodie, but this year a few determined souls raced into a frigid Morses Pond to raise funds for research on a rare condition called Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). Children born with EB suffer constant pain and face shortened lifespans. The Plunge for Elodie is named for Elodie Kubik of Connecticut, whose condition was diagnosed right after her birth on July 15, 2016. Elodie is the daughter of Emily (St. Thomas) Kubik, who grew up on Norwich Road, and David Kubik, They have been joined in their fight against EB by a close-knit group of Emily’s classmates from Wellesley High School's Class of 1999, plus many friends, local businesses and even strangers.
