Wicked Local The Winchester Select Board unanimously voted to sign an emergency resolution regarding evictions during its virtual meeting Feb. 22. The resolution started off as a request from the local chapter of the NAACP for the Select Board to employ an eviction moratorium, which has been seen at the state and federal levels. “There’s issues with our authority at the local level, so I think we were looking for a resolution to encourage any sort of property owner or any dispute with tenants to really take a step back and work with us, and to work with the tenants and the local social service agencies to find some common ground to hold off on an eviction during this difficult time,” Chair Michael Bettencourt said.
