02/04/21 A Wisconsin man accused of attempted murder after stabbing his girlfriend multiple times has been arrested in Cedar Rapids. The Gazette reports that 37-year-old Canyon Thixton of Portage had been living under an alias and staying with an un-named woman at a residence in the 3200 block of Kenrich Drive Southwest. Police and US Marshals took Thixton into custody just before 9am Wednesday. Police were called to a Portage home on September 11 th when a 28-year-old woman reported being stabbed. The woman, later identified as Heather Lemon, told the Portage Daily Register that she had been in a relationship with Thixton for just over a year. He’d returned from a bar, reportedly unable to walk straight, at about 2:45am that day, and later stabbed her while she was sleeping.
