Watt who raised so much money for the city of houston are the couldnt have gone to two better guys. Altuve standing up for the little guys. Im looking at him going this guy is hitting all these home run. Dont let the frame fool you. First those devastating wildfires in california. They are still growing this morning. Lets take a live look from our kabc chopper. You can see its so bad you can see the smoke from outer space. The fires have destroyed hundreds of buildings and marcus moore is on the scene in one of the hardest hit areas in california. Good morning, mark rust. Reporter good morning. These are the flames prompting a mandatory evacuation for the small Beach Community of la conchita watching them as they marched down the ridge. The freeway and the flame jumped that and feeding on the thick dry brush. A natural catastrophe unfolding overnight as the fires roaring across Southern California acres. Towering flames pushed by santa ana winds roaring through neighborhoods, feeding on thick brush, illuminating the night sky for a second day. This is a multiday weather event projacked to last until friday. This has only just begun. Reporter as many as four fires are burning across Southern California. The largest, the thomas fire destroying hundreds of homes and buildings in Ventura County forcing more than 27,000 residents and even some animals to safer ground. Mandatory evacuation due to the fire. Reporter mandatory evacuations still in place for many here as flames continue their assault. Wow. Can you hear that coming down right now . That was a roof i think just collapsed. Reporter tracy bird watching in disbelief. Her home of 12 years gone before her eyes. We cant even describe what im thinking. My mind is not even really connecting with it all yet and yet there it is. Reporter tense flames have alre engulfed this car. Similar scenes across this area as the wind continues to blow. Its only fanning the flames here in Southern California. It is definitely heartbreaking. Reporter derek olsons family home gone in hours but his faith remains. Our faith in god is what gets us through this. We know that our god has our backs and, you know, were just going to see what happens next. Reporter in Los Angeles County over 150,000 forced from their homes by the fastmoving creek fire. Three firefighters hurt fighting that blaze overnight as crews in Santa Clarita battle back a third fire jumping highways and burning in two counties this morning. And so far this morning where we are weve only seen relatively calm winds and thats affecting the speed of these flames. Certainly the people in la conchita are seizing the opportunity to get to safety while at the same time hoping these flames spare their hopes. Guys. We share that hope, all right, thank you, marcus. Our senior meteorologist rob marciano is on creek fire and, rob, these flames exploded so suddenly and theyre moving at a terrifying speed. Yeah, explosive. As marcus mentioned winds laying down for now but the damage has been done. Several homes completely destroyed. The force from the fire and the wind blowing out some of these walls. The water main in this house is ironically broken and spurting water. This portico the only thing left standing, the wins blowing to Hurricane Force moving those flame as long at an alarming rate of 55 acres per minute. Thats like a football field per second. And its not just the wind, extreme dry conditions, low humidity and in the rainy season right now. We should have two inches of rain since october 1st. A tenth of an inch. We should have 20 times that. Firefighters getting up after getting some rest and know it will be a long day and night ahead. Our hearts go out to the people who lost homes but tonight the next round could be worse than okay, rob, thank you. Lets go to scott reiff, a helicopter reporter for our abc station in los angeles. Hes flying above the flames right now and, scott, what are you able to see from your Vantage Point . Well, robin, were over the creek fire. There are three major fires working in Southern California. Well show you the shot outside. We are about 20 miles north of Downtown Los Angeles up in the san fernando valley. The hillside is on fire right now and fornt its moved away from some of the hopes and when the wins kick up thats what were concerned about. Yesterday we had 40 to 50mileanhour winds in the helicopter and at that point in time it was just raging down the hillside so its calmed down a little but were expecting the worst once they kick up again. Hard to see through the smoke and i know youre in darkness but theres technology that youre able to use to really show the impact of these fires. Tell us about that. Yeah, it is actually its a map layover system and unfortunately, you know, thats the way things go sometimes. We got up and had a glitch with it but what has been able to allow us to do is look through the smoke, find a specific location that may be on fire and get people out of those locations by helping Law Enforcement and the Fire Department in many swayings. Scott, say staph. Lets bring in ginger. You had the napa fires two months ago. Now this. Tough for california. Not just fires burning right now, but rob mentioned how dry its been around los angeles. San diego could have their driest 2 1 2month period in nearly a century. So thats why we see some of these red flag warnings and high Wind Warnings stretching all the way to the mexican border. Just because you dont have a fire yet doesnt mean one doesnt start today and go nuts because the gusts and the warnings here are for up to 80mileperhour gusts. Thats tonight through early tomorrow. We could see another huge push with santa ana wind pressure system shoving those winds offshore and were really not going to see this change until late tomorrow through friday. Guys. All right, ginger, i know you keep an eye on it as well. Following the latest on those all morning long. Now we turn to other breaking news learning of a reported assassination plot against the british Prime Minister and our chief Foreign Correspondent terry moran has the latest from london. Good morning, terry. Reporter good morning, robin. This was a serious and chilling plot broken up by Security Services here just last week. It was to be a twostage attack. First a bomb, an ied would be detonated at the heavy iron gates at the end of this street and then a second attack, armed with a suicide vest and a knife would storm number 10 itself, the home of the british Prime Minister. The goal kill theresa may. The two men were in court this morning charged with terrorrelated crimes remanded into custody and Authorities Say this was the ninth terror plot broken up in the united when you remember this country was hit five times in 2017 with terror attacks that killed dozens, you get a sense of just how serious how dire the Terror Threat is here. Robin. You truly do, terry . What a brazen move that. Major new move from President Trump. The middle east on edge this morning as the president set to become the First American president to recognize jerusalem as the capital of israel. He will also say he wants to move the u. S. Embassy from tel aviv to jerusalem so lets bring in martha raddatz, our senior White House Correspondent cecilia vega for the latest on all this. Martha, you have this growing chorus of World Leaders warning the president against this move. Reporter of course, indeed, george. The Turkish Foreign minister is calling it a grave mistake that would bring chaos to the region and jordans king saying it will provoke muslims and christians alike and palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas called it unacceptable. I could go on and on but the bottom line i jimmy kimmel jmg. So its safe to say this has alarmed leaders around the globe. It certainly has but the president been itching to do this for a long time getting a lot of pressure behind the scenes. Reporter im told this really is about making good on that Campaign Promise. Sources here tell me this is something that the president actually wanted to do right after he took office but there was we talk about regularly that learning curve, one source told me he basically realized you cant snap your fingers and move an embassy. There has been pressure, strong pressure behind the scenes from evangelicals and others like Sheldon Anderson that Las Vegas Casino magnate who is a megadonor to donald trump but im told today the white house has a Conference Call scheduled with evangelicals and proisraeli groups to talk about the plan but it came down to the president not wanting to sign this waiver today to extend to keep the embassy in tel aviv. That extension waiver without making it look like hes made some progress on this big he makes progress on the Campaign Promise but, martha, the big question Going Forward is what does this mean for the middle east Peace Process. He dispatched his soninlaw Jared Kushner to lead the u. S. Effort there. Reporter you know, i dont know how this possibly helps any Peace Initiative which, as you said the president s soninlaw kushner has been charged with and says a lot about how little progress has been made. As for violence there, george, palestinians are calling for protests throughout the region, americans have been warned not to go where crowds are gathered or into jerusalems old city and the u. S. Is sending in additional marines to embassies throughout the region and even if there are not protests, nothing public, this is something that will simmer for a very long time, george. Yeah, it could set off repercussions across the region but, cecilia, the president is sort of finessing this a little bit. Hard to know when the embassy will actually be moved. Reporter yeah, martha said it. Theres not been a lot of groundwork made on this front. The white house says it could build an embassy there so talking about a potential donald trump second term if there is one happening under an entire new administratioadministration we will be back for a special report at 1 00 eastern. Okay, there are just six days until the Alabama Senate vote and overnight roy moore got some highprofile support from steve bannon, President Trumps former chief strategist. Tom llamas was there. Joins us this morning. Good morning, tom. Reporter robin, good morning to you. Steve bannon unleashing on what he calls the elite and the republican establishment that are out to destroy roy moore in a move straight out of the Trump Campaign playbook, this as the democrat in this race is trying to fire up his base to show up on election day. On december 12th youll see an election that the world wont forget. Reporter overnight roy moore telling supporters in alabama he can help push the trump agenda. We still have no wall. We still have illegal aliens crossing the border and still have obamacare. We still havent passed a tax program. Working on it. Reporter at the rally with moore, steve bannon, the president s former chief political strategist defending moore against those allegations he sexually assaulted two teenage girls. If they can destroy roy moore, they can destroy you. Reporter and taking on republican establishment stalwart mitt romney after he tweeted that roy moore in the u. S. Senate would be a stain on the gop and the nation. You hid behind your religion. You went to france to be a missionary while guys were dying in rice paddies in vietnam. Do not talk to me about honor and integrity. Judge roy moore has more honor and integrity in that pinkie finger than your entire f has. Reporter also taking onsenator jeff flake of arizona who sent this 100 check to moores democratic opponent doug jones. Writing on the memo line of the check, country over party. Come on, brothers, you going to write a check, write a check, right . Dont give the man 100. Are you kidding me. Reporter but moores opponent doug jones keeping the accusations against moore front and center. I damn sure believe i have done my part to ensure that men who hurt little girls should go to jail and not the United States senate. Reporter now moore has denied those accusation and says hes being attacked because he wants to bring alabama values to washington. So far mitt romney has not responded to those attacks from steve bannon. We have reached out for comment, george. Okay, boy, the fallout from this race will play out for a long time. Thanks. We move to new developments in the russia investigation. Donald trump jr. Will testify on capitol hill this morning as were learning that special Counsel Robert Mueller has asked for documents from a german bank thats been a major lender to President Trump. Pierre thomas has the latest. Good morning. Reporter good morning. What we know is the special counsel sent a subpoena to Deutsche Bank requesting financial records. The bank confirmed they are cooperating with special counsel muellers investigation and in the past the bank has loaned the Trump Organization more than 300 million in real estate transactions, loans prior to mr. Trump becoming president. But strong pushback from the president s attorneys who are saying the subpoena has nothing to do with the president. And the white house called any reports implying that the subpoena is directly tied to President Trump as false, george. So a lot of questions on that Going Forward. We know a subpoena has gone to Deutsche Bank. We will see donald trump jr. On capitol hill, of course, he was front and center at that Infamous Trump tower meeting in june 2016. Reporter yeah, democrats are expected to grill don junior on whether he asked for and clinton during that now famous meeting in june of 2016 at trump tower with that russian lawyer. Other russians, soninlaw Jared Kushner and paul manafort, the former Campaign Chairman indicted by the special counsel. Thanks very much, pierre. Now to that olympics bombshell. The International Olympic committee banning russia from the winter games in february allowing some russians to compete but not under the russian flag. Ryan smith is here with more. Good morning to you, ryan. How is this going to work for the athletes. This is the first ever total ban for a country because of doping. No russian flag, uniform, no russian anthem. The punishment was handed down for what the ioc was calling the systemic use of antidoping rules. Even though there will be no russian team, the ioc is giving Clean Athletes a p participate. Theyll be able to participate under the name olympic athlete from russia without russian colors and their uniforms will have the olympic flag on it but no anthem and just the olympic athlete from russia. Has this ever happened before. No, youre talking about a situation where there have been countries that have been banned but never fordoping. How will this affect the upcoming games. Its interesting. Russia dominates whole sports at the winter Olympic Games. When you combine them with the former soviet union they have more medals at the Olympic Games than any other country so in that way it could be big. But at the same time, many athletes are speaking out saying theyd rather have a clean games but talking about whole sports that could be affected. Is putin going to let his athletes go there without the flag, without the uniform. That is the big question. Everybody is wondering whether there will be a boycott. Some officials have spoken out. No response. We havent heard if theyll go there yet but that is always a possibility. They can also appeal but for right knew its a big blow. Putin is proud of his sports they dont have much time to appeal. The games will be here before we know it. If youre a Clean Athlete you want to compete and hopefully they get a chance to. A lot of coal and snow moving east. Its happening now. You cant see it behind you but it will drop throughout the day in new york city, that arctic air is making its push in. Im going to chicago by friday and look at by thursday morning, 7, th
