BALBOA PARK — An 84-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries Thursday afternoon in a crash in Balboa Park that police are investigating as a possible hit and run, an officer said. The crash occurred just before 1 p.m. when the woman’s 2018 Honda HRV crashed into a guardrail and then a retaining wall on the long, winding Quince Drive off-ramp from north state Route 163, according to San Diego police Officer Robert Heims. A crash that gravely injured an 84-year-old driver Thursday left the guardrail on Quince Drive badly damaged.
