Steve Jahnle, assistant public works director, gave the board an update on the plans. Jahnle said the Department of Environmental Protection has approved plans for exploring the public works site. Jahnle said that the work needs to include discovering the site of a septic system on the premises. "We have no records," he said. "The Board of Health had no records. So, basically, they just want us to do the exploratory testing for the leaching field area, in accordance with what the DEP has required us to do." Monitoring wells Jahnle said Weston & Sampson, the licensed site professional doing the work, will mobilize a drilling contractor to prepare for installing monitoring wells.
