Young musician adds another string to her bow ... with $2000

Lauren was able to buy the Swiss-made Finkel Ernst bow, made from pernambuco wood, or Brazilian timber, after receiving a grant from Inspire Foundation Marlborough.
The foundation helped 15 to 23-year-olds with grants to fund all sorts of requests, such as travel, tuition, equipment, and projects or initiatives.
Until asked to play at an Inspire grantee evening in 2019 at the ASB Theatre, Lauren had never heard of the Inspire Foundation, but then decided to apply for a grant in 2020 to help further her ambitions.

Marlborough teenager Lauren Doherty has composed numerous violin orchestral pieces, and plans to study for a Bachelor of Music.
