Zaid Jilani: Violence unrelated to Israeli-Palestinian conflict 'counterproductive' to peace process

Journalist Zaid Jilani said Monday that violent fighting among people who “really have nothing to do” with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is “counterproductive” for the peace process.
“It's really unfortunate to see this because you have to remember, like, if you are involved in the peace movement in the United States your goal is to get people who have been fighting each other for decades, in a quite bloody conflict, to get along with each other, to live in peace,” Jilani said on Hill.TV’s “Rising.”
“If you're engaged in violence here in the United States against people that really have nothing to do with the conflict, they have a point of view about it and maybe they share a religious faith or ethnicity with some people, but they really have nothing to do with it. If you're fighting with those people, I think it's very counterproductive,” he continued.
