ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - On Wednesday, Senator Raphael Warnock and Georgia Congressman Sanford Bishop took a tour of Southwest Georgia farms to address the need for more funds.
Warnock met with local farmers and producers about how important farmers are to the Peach State. He said his number one goal is to get Washington to remove what he says are unnecessary barriers for trade and better working conditions.
The senator said it’s key to increase broadband access in rural Georgia as they continue to focus on infrastructure. ....

Teenage escapees back in custody

Three teens who escaped from the MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility early Sunday morning were arrested in Albany on Wednesday afternoon after being located by the Oregon State Police, according to a news release from the Oregon Youth Authority.
At about 2 p.m. on Wednesday, the escapees were located in a vehicle in Lebanon by OSP detectives. The teens fled in the vehicle and were pursued by law enforcement, the news release states.
Near Albany, law enforcement laid down stop sticksÂ â devices that flatten a vehicleâs tiresÂ â which disabled their automobile. One of the teens ran from the vehicle but was caught and arrested a short distance away. The other two teens stayed in the vehicle and were taken into custody. No one was injured during the chase or capture, according to the news release. ....

Rule No. 1: Don t sell or smoke pot, or carry it for a friend.
Rule No. 2: Be white.
The second rule wasn t easy for about half the population, of course. But it reflected the ugly reality in a city, like many others around the country, where nearly everyone arrested for marijuana possession was Black. ....
