Oconto teen appears in Michigan court on attempted homicide charge Kent Tempus, Green Bay Press-Gazette MENOMINEE, Mich. - An Oconto teen accused of shooting a man during a drug deal made his first appearance in court Wednesday. Logan D. Race, 17, is charged with assault with intent to murder and being in possession of a firearm during a felony over the Dec. 28 incident. A second Oconto teen, who was 14 at the time but since turned 15, faces the same charges, but his extradition to Michigan is pending, said Menominee County Prosecuting Attorney Jeffrey Rogg. At the arraignment hearing on Wednesday, 95-A District Court Judge Robert Jamo formally advised Race of the charges, entered a not guilty plea on his behalf, and appointed attorney Joe Klumb to represent Race in Michigan, Rogg said. ....

The fire was at the 16000 block of Maiden Lake Road at approximately 8:23 a.m. where a passing motorist alerted authorities. Upon arrival emergency crews found the structure largely consumed by flames down to the foundation. During fire suppression efforts, first responders found the two individuals deceased in the home. An investigation is still ongoing by the Riverview Fire Department, the Brown County Medical Examinerâs Office and the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation-Arson Bureau. ....
Oconto tavern damaged by fire Friday night OCONTO – Fire caused minor damage to an Oconto tavern Friday night. Approximately 10 people inside at the time evacuated, said Oconto Fire Rescue Chief Josh Bostedt. No one was injured. OFRD was called at 8:49 p.m. to the Shiloh Lounge, 124 Chicago St., for smoke in the building and basement, but firefighters learned en route that flames could be seen. Firefighters arrived to find small flames on the northeast corner of the building, knocked them down with 1.75- inch hose, then checked to make sure the blaze hadn’t spread. A few hot spots were extinguished. ....
