The Commonwealth of Virginia could face legal action if a proposal on faith-based adoption agencies is enacted by state lawmakers.
HB 1932, as introduced in the lower chamber of the Virginia General Assembly, would likely put faith-based adoption agencies out of business if, because of their religious convictions, those agencies deny same-gender couples adoption and foster care placements. It s not the first time it s come up, according to Victoria Cobb of the Family Foundation of Virginia.
There s a long history [with this] in Virginia, she tells One News Now. And in fact, it was attempted to be put into regulations as a discrimination against faith-based providers. We were able to block that and actually put a protection into our law. ....

Grace Marie Letterman, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, 82, of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Monday, Jan. 11, 2021 at Country Meadows Retirement Community in Mechanicsburg. Born July 10, 1938 in Limestone Township, Lycoming County, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Rose (Keller) Eiswert.
Grace grew up in the farming community of Lycoming County until the time she graduated from Jersey Shore Area Joint High School. As a Navy wife, Grace and the family lived in several locations across the United States and Cuba before settling into their permanent home in Mechanicsburg. Grace was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Camp Hill since 1978. ....
