Washington [US], April 8 (ANI): Cancer doctors may soon have a new tool for treating melanoma and other types of cancer, thanks to work being done by researchers at the University of Colorado Cancer Center who claimed to have found a drug that can reduce inflammation and the resultant tumour expansion.
In a paper published in the journal PNAS, scientists from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus detailed their work on NLRP3, an intracellular complex that has been found to participate in melanoma-mediated inflammation, leading to tumour growth and progression. By inhibiting NLRP3, the researchers found, they can reduce inflammation and the resultant tumour expansion. ....

Anxiety among men transitioning into parenthood is significantly higher than reported by the World Health Organization (WHO) regional prevalence rates, a new study suggests.
The findings indicated that the overall estimate of anxiety among men during the perinatal period was nearly 11 per cent, with rates being lower during pregnancy (9.9 per cent) than during the first year postpartum (11.7 per cent).
These rates are considerably higher than the global WHO regional prevalence rates for anxiety among men that range between 2.2 to 3.8 per cent, suggesting the transition into parenthood may increase the risk for anxiety in men. ....
