MORRISONVILLE State Rep. Avery Bourne, R-Morrisonville, accepting entries for her annual Student Art Contest.
Students throughout the 95th District including all or part of Madison, Macoupin, Montgomery and Christian counties can submit original, Illinois themed entries through mid-April. Submit any 2-D medium works on an 8.5-by-11-inch paper and include the title of the artwork, their name, grade and school on the back of their work. Entries must be submitted by mail or in person to Bourne’s office at 106 E. Columbian Blvd. North, Litchfield.
Winners will have their artwork displayed in Bourne’s district office and shown to the General Assembly. They also will receive a certificate from the Illinois House of Representatives. ....

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - People who received their first Pfizer vaccine will receive their second dose in a drive-thru clinic this week in Montgomery.
Montgomery officials are holding the mass vaccination clinic Monday through Friday at the old Montgomery Mall location, just like the first clinic. While the location remains the same, the timing will vary:
Monday - 9 a.m. through 5 p.m. ....

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - Whether it’s electing Montgomery’s first black mayor or America’s first female vice president, there is a movement of black political leadership happening across America.
“We‘re just taking the steps necessary to succeed,” Mayor of Camp Hill Messiah Williams-Cole said.
Cole is America’s youngest mayor at 21-year-old. He says past leaders like John Lewis have paved the way for leaders today.
“I think it’s important that we acknowledge them in the things we do because if it were not for them, we would not be able to be in these positions,” Cole added. ....
