NPS: Expect school bus delays for the rest of the school year

In February, News 3 reported that buses were running late after a large number of drivers called out sick. Norfolk Public Schools, like many other school districts across the country, told us they've been dealing with bus driver shortages all year.

York County makes masks optional for students and staff

Masks are now optional for anyone inside a school building, bus or car in York County. School leaders said the division will continue to follow masking guidance for people who have been exposed to COVID-19 or have tested positive for the virus.

NPS anticipates more drop-off delays Thursday due to school bus driver shortage

Virginia Beach teacher resigns over optional mask policy at schools

Clark Murphy was a special education teacher at Corporate Landing Elementary School. He says he has a chronic health condition that could put him at increased risk of serious complications from getting COVID-19.

Dare County Board of Education votes to rescind mask requirement, except where federally required

According to the new policy, masks will only be required on school buses or other school transportation vehicles subject to requirements from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
