tax increase every month. what you are bringing is home is less than what the goods you purchase cost. the more you live paycheck to paycheck -- gas prices were going up. i pulled up to the gas pump and somebody right in front of me had pulled up and only bought one gallon of gas when the gas in tennessee was approaching $5.55. somebody trying to get their kid to school -- this is a brutal universe that joe biden created. i will say you look at that "60 minutes" interview, the first one in 7 months, democrats lose every time biden opens his mouth. they had the tuesday event to celebrate the inflation reduction act as the stock market dropped. biden is the worst sales men for a disastrous policy.

i think he is being driven by the climate crowd. the climate crowd wants high gas prices so we drive less, emit less, and we are all go to electric cars and help out the environment. president biden is on that team and it shows. the problem is we don't have renewables available now to take the place of fossil fuels. so fossil fuels go straight up in price. this morning gasoline very close to 4.60 a gallon and diesel as 5.55. the next step along the process is a recession. you can't -- inflation is being driven by energy price inflation. that's what we have got. and it's driving us over the cliff towards a recession. now, the president has a political problem with that. but he doesn't appear to have a problem with the green crowd that's pushing him in that direction. >> ainsley: if you are going to take something away from me. give me something to replace it with. you can't afford electric cars. they are so expensive right now

what's going on here? >> this is different and it's smaller than that strategic petroleum reserve. clearly the white house is very concerned about this supply crunch in diesel, as they should be, because this is piling further pressure on the worst inflation that anyone has seen in 40 years. diesel is what's used to power trucks and trains and boats and tractors, pretty much anything that hauls stuff around the economy. alarmed by soaring prices biden officials have begun consultations internally and externally what's going on. they are considering potentially tapping the northeast home heating oil reserve which despite its name holds an emergency stockpile of diesel. it's only been used in 2012 in the aftermath of hurricane superstorm sandy but the situation today like then is serious. the national average is at $5.55 a gallon, up 75% from a year ago. demand is strong, the war in ukraine has scrambled the supply of energy and also there has
