By WMAY Newsroom (Facebook / Illinois State Board Of Education) The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) is giving out $1.5 Million in grants. The Education Career Pathways Grants are being awarded to Career and Technical Education (CTE) for 10 vocational centers and to support future educators at 38 high schools. Gil Opferman is writing and directing a show for Athens High School called Singing The COVID Blues Away which will feature an ensemble of 19 kids and about 8 songs spread over 4 acts. The show will be in person with limited capacity, but as the performance will be in the gym, the show will also be streamed using some of the sports broadcasting equipment.
