Razon) MANILA - The Philippines has administered a total of 91,777,433 doses of coronavirus vaccine nationwide, with 38,168,603 Filipinos are now fully protected against the risks of Covid-19 infection. As of Monday, data from the national Covid-19 vaccination dashboard showed 53,098,886 Filipinos have received their first dose and a total of 509,944 booster shots and additional doses were given to healthcare workers, senior citizens, and immunocompromised individuals. The current average daily vaccination rate in the last seven days stood at 1,497,212 doses. The Department of Health (DOH) reported that a total of 9,937,827 Covid-19 doses were administered during the five-day massive "Bayanihan, Bakunahan" vaccination drive, which was originally set for Nov. 29 to Dec. 1, and was later extended until Dec. 3. The government is also set to hold another round of massive vaccination from Dec. 15 to 17, with an aim of fully inoculating 54 million Filipinos by the end of this year. National Vaccination Operations Center (NVOC) and DOH Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje earlier said similar guidelines will be imposed during the second leg of the Bayanihan, Bakunahan drive. (PNA file photo) MANILA-The Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday said a total of 9,937,827 were vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) during the five-day national vaccination drive. Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said the campaign was a "huge success" as the country was able to breach its target to inoculate at least nine million people. "'Yung unang tatlong araw naka 8.01 million tayo na nabakunahan but with this extension, ito pong dalawang araw na extension natin, nakapagdagdag tayo ng 1.9 million na pagbabakuna pa (For the first three days, we were able to vaccinate 8.01 million but with this extension, we were able to add 1.9 million more)," she said in a Laging Handa briefing. Vergeire said the country also recorded its highest number of daily jabs at 2.82 million. The inoculation campaign, originally set for November 29 to December 1, was extended for two days until December 3. Another leg is scheduled to be held from December 15 to 17. As the country seeks to achieve population protection as soon as possible, Vergeire urged local government units to accept vaccinees even without prior registration. Comelec logs 4M new voters aged 18 to 21

(File photo) MANILA - The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has recorded more than four million new voters belonging to the 18 to 21 age group. The data from the Information Technology Department of the poll body as of October 14 showed that a total of 4,094,614 young adult Filipinos are newly registered voters. Most of the first-time voters are women at 2,156,657 (52.67 percent) while 1,937,957 are men (47.32 percent). Those aged 21 topped the list at 1,547,469, with 796,891 women and 750,578 men, followed by those aged 20 at 1,238,284, with 655,663 women and 582,621 men. Meanwhile, those who are 19 years old are at 990,380, with 533,070 women and 457,310 men. Those who are 18 years old are at 318,481, with 171,033 women and 147,448 men.
