Pablo Cuadra/FilmMagicIn the forthcoming May 7 episode of David Duchovny’s Fail Better podcast, Ben Stiller unpacked what Zoolander 2 bombing did for him — for better or worse. The 2016 movie tanked at the box office and was critically drubbed, which took a toll on him, Stiller says in the interview."It hurt," Stiller said, according to The Wrap.“I thought everybody wanted this, and then it’s like, 'Wow, I must have really f***** this up. Everybody didn’t go to it. And it's gotten these horrible reviews."Stiller adds, "It really freaked me out because I was like, 'I didn’t know [it] was that bad?'"The director of the 2008 comedy Tropic Thunder recalls, "What scared me the most on that one was l’m losing what I think what's funny, the questioning yourself,” he added. “It was definitely blindsiding to me. And it definitely affected me for a long time.”That said, there was a silver lining. "The wonderful thing that came out of that for me was ... if that had been a hit, and they said 'Make Zoolander 3 right now' ... I would have just probably jumped in and done that."Stiller added, "Even if somebody said, 'Well, why don’t you go do another comedy or do this?’ I probably could have figured out something to do. But I just didn’t want to."What came from that break was developing some limited series, like 2018's Escape at Dannemora, for which he was nominated for an Emmy in the directing category, and the Emmy-nominated Apple TV+ series Severance.Copyright © 2024, ABC Audio. Kevin Winter/Getty Images for The Recording AcademyWhen Céline Dion made a surprise appearance at the Grammy Awards in February 2024, she received a standing ovation — but also a lot of raised eyebrows, because she came onstage wearing a massive, mustard-yellow Valentino coat over her dress. Now we know why.Céline's appearance was a big deal, because it was one of the first times she'd been in front of people in such a public way since she'd announced her stiff-person syndrome diagnosis. In a video she made for Vogue, Celine explains, "It was very nerve-wracking, but at the same time, a big honor. That magic. That excitement. To see the fans, to see the crowd. To see show business again.""But it's always very, very touching when you have a standing ovation," she adds."It took a lot out of me," Céline says of the appearance. "But my son came and gave me his support. And to present the Album of the Year to Taylor Swift, it's an honor, because she's having the time of her life and I'm the one presenting it to her."But what about her look? "I was like, 'I can walk onstage with a coat?'" Céline recalls asking. And she remembers being told, "Oh yeah, you can do whatever you want in fashion. Just have a good time, wear that coat, own that coat, go for it!'""And it made me feel better for a moment to hold onto this coat, to hide myself a little bit, from all these little things," she explains, before breaking into a chorus of her song, "Imperfections."Copyright © 2024, ABC Audio. Disney+Disneynature’s Tiger pounces onto Disney+ on Earth Day, April 22.Narrated by Priyanka Chopra Jonas, the project "lifts the veil on our planet’s most revered and charismatic animal, inviting viewers to journey alongside Ambar, a young tigress raising her cubs in the fabled forests of India."In the launch announcement, an "honored" Priyanka expresses, "It’s just wonderful to be able to be a part of something so special and to tell the story of this magnificent animal that comes from my country."She adds, "I have always loved tigers and I feel a kinship with the female tiger -- I feel very protective of my family. Ambar’s journey is something I think every mom would really relate to."Co-director Vanessa Berlowitz tells ABC Audio, "The [tiger] moms are even more amazing than we thought they'd be. The males are kind of less stereotype, kind of one-dimensional baddies."She adds, "I also hope people take away the idea that, you know, this is a positive conservation success story. Tigers are doing really well in India because of what Indians have done to save them."Co-director Mark Linfield tells ABC Audio that Earth Day was the perfect release day for the film. "I actually love the idea that there's a day when people are actually forced to stop and just think about nature and the environment, a little bit more than they might on an average day," he says. Linfield adds, "The more time we spend in nature and, you know, just get out into the wild ... It's good for everything. And it's good to remind us that we're part of nature and we're not separate from it." Disney is the parent company of ABC News.Copyright © 2024, ABC Audio. a presumption to allow the states to pursue any criminal matter before they pursue the federal matter. 99% of all cases out there the department of justice would say we are going to wait until the states of georgia on its case, the alvin bragg case in new york until they have gone through indictment to trial and finalize. then the department of justice would step in pr process accordg to policy. why were they ruling to violate the internal policies? they are willing to do it because it is not an effort about finding out the facts and applying the law. this is an effort to keep down a candidate that they do not want to come back into power. so i am watching and seeing this and i'm saying to myself they are violating all of our historical precedent in the criminal justice system that this country is seen today.
