Colonel Pedro Martirez Jr., Basilan police director, identified the slain suspects as Macsud Cuevas, 45, a resident of Barangay Bohelebong, Tipo Tipo, and Dasman Kilala, a resident of Bubuan Island, Tabuan Lasa. ZAMBOANGA CITY - Authorities have dismantled a drug den and arrested eight high-value targets (HVTs) drug suspects in separate anti-drug operations in the Zamboanga Sibugay town of Ipil and this city over the weekend. In a report Monday, Col. Albert Larubis, Zamboanga Sibugay police director, said five HVTs were arrested and a drug den was dismantled in an operation launched by police officers and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency operatives at 3:40 p.m. Sunday in Purok Reservoir, Barangay Don Andres, Ipil town. They were identified as Al-medzfar Aclaracion Abuales, 22; Boy Teves Navaro, 31; Jericho Ace Alejandro Ortiz, 23; Janmark Chora Rosales, 19; and, Zomiso Yanez Capillanes Jr., 31. Confiscated from the suspects were some 10 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP68,000, assorted illegal drug paraphernalia, and PHP1,000 marked money. ZAMBOANGA CITY - A high-value target (HVT) and 11 other individuals were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in the past week in this region, according to the Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9). The arrested HVT was identified as Jayboy Elorde, 31, a top 8 priority target in the police anti-drug campaign of Ipil, the capital of Zamboanga Sibugay province. Col. Albert Larubis, Zamboanga Sibugay police director, on Saturday said Elorde was arrested around 11:20 p.m. Friday in Purok Dayang, Barangay Tiayon, Ipil. Seized from Elorde were some PHP7,990 worth of suspected shabu packed in four heat-sealed plastic sachets and PHP500 marked money. Two of the other 11 arrested suspects were tagged as street-level individuals (SLIs) peddling illegal drugs.
