Judge Esther Salas Returns to Work After Son Killed At Home, Her Safety Warning Unheeded On 3/1/21 at 7:53 AM EST A federal judge whose son was killed when a gunman opened fire at her home in an attack she was the target of will return to work on Monday more than six months after the shooting. New Jersey U.S. District Court Judge Esther Salas' 20-year-old son Daniel Anderl was killed and her husband severely injured after Roy Den Hollander posed as a FedEx delivery worker and shot at the home on July 20, 2020. Salas was inside at the time, but was not hurt during the shooting.
