hello, i m tom brook, and welcome to a special edition of talking movies devoted to the latest developments in korean cinema. i ve come to seoul to take the temperature of one of the most dynamic film making communities in the world to ask, what s next for its movie industry? wow, look at all those people. it s my first visit to south korea. i arrived after a 14 hour flight from my home in new york. coming here was a journey of discovery. moving around seoul, i found the night time metropolis exciting, unlike anywhere i d ever been before. like many, i ve tasted the joys of korean cinema, its landmark films like oldboy and parasite. now, i was going to meet the people involved in the movie industry in south korea to find out how they make it all work. but what became clear very rapidly as i encountered koreans on the night time streets is that they really do like their movies. yeah, i really like movies. i watch movie every day, every night. i really do love movies. and ....

To residents of bridgeport, connecticut. here storms, 80-mile an hour winds ripping through the state at 5:00 this morning. we re going to get a better look at the devastation a. sure sign the winds were strong, right above we, we re off of interstate 95 along the connecticut shoreline, that is a billboard literally hanging by a thread, it was tossed around by the fierce storms on top of the building that was damaged. that could tumble down at any time. further down east main street, this is like a set from a hollywood disaster movie. you ve got trees, power lines, you ve got cars crushed by mud and debris. part of the damage done. the mayor of bridgeport, connecticut declared a state of emergency, the governor of connecticut also offered some assistance as well. the big question is, as everybody gets a good look at this damage done, was this technically a tornado that struck. we know the winds were strong. what s going to happen later here this morning in connecticut, there will be te ....
Distinguish from what we see in a hollywood disaster movie where you see one huge wave coming and then it hits the shore. a tsunami can have multiple waves, correct, they keep on coming for an extended period of time? that s correct. you typically, you know, not usual, but typically a tsunami is a series of waves. they can actually happen hours apart. so it s very important for people to recognize if a wave does hit, not to go out after that first wave but wait until the local authorities tell them that it is safe. okay. the hawaiian islands are supposed to issue some sort of a siren at 6:00 a.m. does this go across all seven of the islands? i m not sure how you know, what the distribution of the warning will be. clearly, they will do it on the coast. i suspect the areas in the region will be the southern and eastern regions of the island, because they seem to be most ....
