The efforts to find scott turner involve more than 50 people. People on the ground and air as well. Search crews set up a command post in the upstate. We have 55 folks that are actually deployed. Reporter oconnee county fire chief says that number includes friends and family of scott turner. He disappeared from kanton monday. He seemed to be okay at work monday. Reporter long time friend robert hill used to work with turner at the evergreen paper plant. He says something must have changed. After monday, nobody heard anything. His phone was turned off after he left work. And i think the last thing he got on his phone was in canton. Reporter family found his pickup truck near the toretugga river. Outdoorsman and came here to fish and hunt. Folks are still hiking the foothills so we dont know if that was his or someones passing through. Were getting light Ice Accumulations. You can actually see that sheen on the roads. Little icicels on the lens. Down in the upstate, great news here, temperatures have gone above freezing. The ice is now rain. You can see some of that. Watch this little glazing on the grass. It gets a little white and then the rain comes. Now we begin to melt some of this off. That pink is all about freezing rain. Pockets of pink. That is warmer air working in to this storm system and scouring some of this low level cold out. So the freezing temperatures are going to warm up. Weve already seen a lot of Ice Accumulation in these areas over mcdowell, polk, down through henderson. Down in to the northern upstate. School leaders say it was a tough call to make this morning because originally it looked good. But after transportation workers found widespread black ice, they decided to close school for the day sending out a second notification an hour later and frustrating a few parents. You know, its just that its closed or its not closed. Kept it one way or another. I went back it sleep and got woke up again by, well, schools out.
