BELOIT – West Branch is set to have an in-person graduation ceremony. Acting Superintendent Micki Egli reported this week the district intends to hold the graduation ceremony June 6 at the high school, based on current social gathering restrictions regarding the Covid-19 pandemic. She said depending on weather there will either be an outdoor ceremony at the stadium or three separate ceremonies indoors. The school board Wednesday night approved Timothy Saxton to remain on sick leave through July 31 and acting Superintendent Micki Egli to continue as superintendent pro tempore during that time. Saxton has been on sick leave since August and Egli has been filling in for him. Saxton has requested to be transitioned to a teaching position upon his return. BELOIT — The West Branch school board Wednesday night selected leadership for 2021. The board elected elected Aaron Hawk as president. Courtney Stryffeler, the president for the past year, declined to remain in the position, saying after the challenging 2020 dominated by the Covid-19 pandemic she felt each board member should take a turn as president. The board then elected Mikki Kanagy as vice president.
