That swim was only 0.02 seconds off Shackell's lifetime best that she swam in March. She already swam a personal best in the 100 fly earlier in the meet.

Shackell joins the Texas roster and would have made NCAAs this past season. He is currently the #3 American this season in the LCM 200 freestyle.

Shackell returned home to Carmel, Indiana to train during his Olympic Redshirt this spring and swam numerous best times at Indianapolis Sectionals.

Shackell's swim takes about eight-tenths off her previous best, which she set last June in prelims of the event at U.S. Nationals.
