Federal Poly Bida  inaugurates N1bn projects

The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Bida, Dr Abubakar Abdul Dzukogi has lauded the Federal Government and the Federal Ministry of Education for approving seven newly completed projects estimated at about N1 billion to the Bida campus of the Institution through the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TetFund) intervention.
The rector made the commendation during the inauguration of the multi-million naira projects at the polytechnic.
Dr Dzukogi noted that about five projects were sponsored byTetFund while two others were executed through internally generated revenue (IGR) to provide an enabling atmosphere for teaching and learning for lecturers as well as students of the institution.

The management of the Federal Polytechnic, Bida has raised the alarm over an alleged plot by the institution’s chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP-BD) to get the rector, Dr Abubakar Abdul Dzukogi, removed by any means, including instituting several court cases challenging the reappointment of the rector.
The polytechnic stated this in a statement issued by its public relations officer (PRO) Mallam Hussaini Enagi and made available to journalists on Friday in Bida, stressing that the reappointment of the rector was right and proper, highlighting that clarification has been obtained from the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and the Office of the Head of Civil  Service of the Federation (OHCSF).

Daily Trust - We need N22m monthly to pay local allowances – Rector


The Rector disclosed during the opening ceremony of a One Day Retreat on the restoration of peace, peaceful coexistence and understanding amongst the staff, students and management for a lasting peace in the institution.
“The institution required N22 million for the payments of staff allowances on monthly basis from the IGR in which we have agreed with the union to pay the backlog which we already started but the fact still remains that the sector is under funded and we want government to intervene in the matter,” he said.
Speaking on the purpose of the retreat, Dzukogi said the major aim of the retreat was for the stakeholders to be more enlightened and understand better, the policy trust of his administration.
