Supreme Court denies right for daughter to lay a claim over the ancestral property of the father if he died before year 2005

The supreme court has given the verdict that daughters do not have the right to claim the ancestral property of her father if he died before or on 9th September 2005. According to the Hindu Succession Act of 1956 daughter did not have any right to inherit the ancestral property of her father unlike her brother. She could only demand maintenance from her family of her father.
