The 25th Undergraduate Senate had their fourth and last meeting of the 2022-2023 academic year on Tuesday. The senators discussed eliminating fees associated with physical wellness courses and reforming campus healthcare to better meet student needs.
Local Scout and Ponca City High School Senior, Tanner Estes, has earned the Scouts BSA’s highest achievement, the Eagle Scout Award. Estes is a member of St. Pauls United Methodist Church Troop 556. Approximately 6 percent of all youth who participate in Scouting attain the Eagle Rank. To earn the Eagle Rank, Tanner had to complete at least 21 merit badges, earn 7 different ranks, demonstrate Scout Spirit, serve in a leadership role for at least 16 months and plan, develop, and give leadership to others in a service project helpful to a religious institution, school, or community.
After being closed for three years due to a lifeguard shortage, Sierra Beach at Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area will reopen June 3 as an unmanned beach.
